Bellingen Shire has extraordinary
rain-forests and eucalypt forests that stretch down from the mountains
to the sea at Hungry Head, setting it apart from all other NSW North
Coast shires.

Of special appeal is the shaded walk
through ancient melaleucas (ti-trees) to the secluded Hungry Head and
Dalhousie Creek estuary.
Sleep to the soothing sound of the surf
and wake to an early morning walk and swim or watch the sunrise from the
Headland.
A feature of the Hungry Head Nature
Reserve is the rare littoral rainforest sheltered behind the surf club
and observation platform only minutes from the cabins.
If you like the Australian bush and
beach…it's birds and animals then this is the place to meet the wildlife
of Hungry Head.
Kangaroos, wallabies possums and bandi-coots, kookaburras and many other species of birds frequent the cabin
area.
Hungry Head Nature Reserve Cabins are
close to Urunga lagoon and footbridge. Urunga town centre, Syd/Bris
train at Urunga, golf and sporting club, bowls club, hotel, banks,
restaurants, supermarkets, historical Bellingen, art and craft
galleries, Dorrigo and Bongil Bongil National Parks.
